1) Are dogs allowed in the park?

We welcome dogs, as long as they are kept on a lead at all times, and their owners clean up after them.

2) Is smoking allowed in the park?

Blackgang Chine is a non-smoking park. However, we do have designated smoking areas within the park for our visitors who wish to use them.

3) What age group is Blackgang suitable for?

Blackgang offers fun for all the family. Younger visitors may enjoy Nurseryland, Valley of the Dodos, the Pirate Barrels ride and Fairyland the most, whilst older children will love the Cliff Hanger roller coaster, and Waterforce waterslide. Parents and Grandparents can enjoy the stunning sea views and relax with one of our bean to cup coffees whilst the younger ones let their imaginations run wild!

4) Can we use our ticket more than once?

Yes you can! All of our standard park tickets include a complimentary 7-day free re-entry to the park! This means you can return to the park as many times as you like in the 7 days following your visit to us. This allows our visitors to make the most of all the park has to offer.

We will require you to sign your ticket when you arrive on your first visit, and on each subsequent visit. The same signature must be provided on each visit. You may be asked for ID. Terms and conditions apply.

5) Can we use our Blackgang Chine ticket to visit Robin Hill?

Unfortunately, you can only use your Blackgang Freedom ticket to visit Blackgang Chine. However, you can purchase a Joint Park ticket which provides good value for money and allows you access to both parks as many times as you like within the 7-day period.

6) What is a saver ticket, and who qualifies for it?

Any four people can enter Blackgang Chine for a special price which offers a saving on paying for four people individually. Please remember that under 4’s are free. Our staff will always offer you the best price for entry into the park for you and your group, and are happy to help you work out the best rate.

7) Do you take Tesco Clubcard Vouchers?

Unfortunately, we don’t accept Tesco Clubcard vouchers at this time.

8) Do you offer student discount?

Unfortunately, we do not offer student discounts at this time.

9) Do you offer any concessions for Island residents?

All visitors have the opportunity to buy one of our ‘Frequent Visitor Tickets‘.  The tickets can be bought for either Blackgang Chine or Robin Hill if you prefer one of our parks over the other, or if you enjoy both parks, we can offer a joint park Frequent Visitor Ticket. This is the best value for money option for customers who regularly visit the parks.

10) Can we bring our own food and drink into the park?

Visitors are welcome to bring their own refreshments into the park, and there are lots of suitable picnic areas. However, we do have a wide range of catering options throughout the park offering everything from a light snack to a full meal to suit every taste.

11) Do we have to pay for anything once we are inside the park?

All our rides and attractions are included in your ticket price, and are free to use as many times as you like during your visit. However during peak season, we may have additional attractions, such as Ride on dinosaurs and Panning for Gold which will have an additional charge. During special events, there may also be other additional activities, such as “Potion making” and Face Painting which will also incur a small charge. Refreshments and gifts from our shop are not included, and we do have a few coin operated games spread throughout the park.

12) What is the minimum age a child can enter Blackgang Chine on their own?

You must be at least 14 years old to enter the park unaccompanied by an adult up to 6 pm, after 6 pm you must be 16 years old to enter unaccompanied by an adult unless stated otherwise as part of an event. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any one we don’t believe to be old enough, so please bring some I.D (Passport, Birth Certificate only) if you think you might need to.

13) Are there any restrictions on the rides at Blackgang?

We have strict health and safety laws that we must abide by. Visitors have to be a minimum of 1 metre tall and accompanied by an adult to ride on Waterforce (or 1.2 metres to ride unaccompanied) and 1.1 metres tall to ride Cliff Hanger and use the Snakes and Ladders. Visitors using the Cliffhanger must be able to fasten their seatbelt for the ride to operate. Our Barrel ride does not have any restrictions in place.

14) Is everything open in adverse weather?

We try to keep everything open wherever possible, however in some weather conditions rides and attractions are forced to close. In wet weather Snakes and Ladders will close, as the stainless-steel slides become too slippery. They will remain closed after a shower until they are dry. In very high winds, we may have to close Cliff Hanger and Waterforce, however this is very rare. Waterforce, Cliff Hanger and Pirate Barrels will not run during thunder and lightning.

During these closures, the situation will be closely monitored and they will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.

15) Is the park suitable for disabled visitors?

The park has a range of facilities suitable for disabled visitors, included designated disabled parking. Please download our Guide for Guests with Disabilities to ensure you can make the most of your visit with us.

Unfortunately, we don’t hire out wheelchairs or disability scooters, so please make adequate provisions before you visit.
