Dinosaur fossils and shark teeth discovered at Blackgang!

« Back to newsThu, 21 June 2012

Blackgang celebrated Fathers' Day with a special Sunday for Dads and their kids exploring the mysterious world of the Dinosaur.

Paleantologists, Oliver Mattson and Andrew Cocks  from the Dinosaur Exhibitions Co-operative provided a full programme of discovery, including digging for sharks' teeth and making plaster casts of dinosaur claws! The obvious fascination for dinosaurs was shared by adults and children alike and many of the adults remember the giant models of these prehistoric creatures being flown into Blackgang in 1972, as featured on Blue Peter, 30 years ago.

Over 500 visitors came along and the sunshine lifted the spirits of the many would-be Indiana Jones explorers!
